Tales Of The Pinkie
Part of the thrill of being in a group like the Pink Singers is that everyone is so different, from their backgrounds, to their ages, to the time when they were actually in the choir, so everyone's experience of being in the choir is just that little bit different. That is why the articles in the section called Tales Of The Pinkie always intrigue me the most - it is like getting a little peek into someone's point of view.
The newest addition to our version of TOTP is Nathalina who has the record for the youngest person ever in the choir - she joined when she was just 19! It is now several years on of course, and she still looks as fresh-faced as she did back then - doesn't she look radiant standing there with Cormac? Surf on over to the Pink Singers website and have a look at her tale.
The one thing you will notice of all the stories, as we head up to the 25th anniversary, is that everyone has such warm memories of of the Pink Singers, and continues to feel a good deal of affection for the choir, even if they are no longer actively singing. Our 25th celebrations are on the Thames, and Pinkies of the past are really welcome to come and join the current choir for a celebration. So do get your ticket now!

All Quiet On The Western Front
Hello all!
I realize that things have been relatively inactive here on In The Pink(ies) in the last few weeks. Don't worry! All is not forgotten - there is a good reason why things are on the quiet side. Yes, we are having a very important chat about the impact of "new media" that is, the internet and associated web services, on the Pinkies. As you might imagine there are very real concerns about privacy, and until we come up with good guidelines about what can and cannot be published, I'm afraid that regular readers aren't going to get much by way of Pink Singers updates on this blog.
The other reason is that given the bank holidays and the fact that I am now in New York on a short break (with all my music and rehearsal tracks of course!) I haven't really had a chance to keep abreast of the news. In fact, there is a lot of it, but without letting the cat out of the bag just yet, we have festivities palnned for the 25th anniversary. If you are a Pink Singer and want to take part, please get in touch with Lynne over on the Pink Singers main website ASAP!
We are also planing in advance for a concert at a big venue at the end of the year, a Christmas concert with carols if you will. It is going to be a big challenge and we seriously need all the help we can get.
In the interim, I leave you with some wise words from Calpernia Addams on Bad Questions To Ask A Transsexual.

Countdown To Summer And 25!
The timetable for summer 2008 is out on the Pink Singers website, and I am really looking forward to the 25th anniversary ball. Yes, the Pink Singers are a quarter century old - and we are celebrating on the 12th of April 2008. I am always tickled pink (oh ho ho!) when I read Mark Bunyan's diary of 1983 describing that very first meeting of the Pink Singers. I know Liang been in touch with Mark to try find out who the original 15 Pink Singers were, but even our esteemed founder no longer remembers, or has lost contact with them. So, if you are a Pink Singer, from any year really, and would like to join in the festivities, get in touch. Leave a message here, or contact the Pink Singers via the website. And remember, the summer season starts on the 2nd of February - we're counting down now...
