The Advantages Of Twitter

Courtesy of @brettshane I was presented with this rather lovely photo of rugby players Gareth Thomas and Nick Youngquest today. Gareth Thomas is quite the celebrity at the moment, and has quite unconsciously taken on the role as unoffical spokesperson for LGBT sport. Nick Youngquest is an Australian who is straight, but knows his fan base very well. In any case, I would never have heard of the latter were it not for the wonders of twitter. It turns out that he caused a bit of a furore for the following photo which appeared as the June page of the Naked Rugby League Calendar 2007-2008. What I Love About The Pink Singers

Here are a few more photos that Mark's uncle took last Sunday at our dress rehearsal. The full range can be seen on Facebook, but I particularly like these two because it shows the two sides of the Pink Singers: in formal rows for when we are tackling classical music, and with our hair down for the jazz and pop. The guys and girls just look amazing. And we will of course sound amazing too, so make sure you get to the Royal Academy of Music on Saturday for our concert. 7 for 7.30pm - don't be late!

New Press Photos!

At yesterday's dress rehearsal Mark's uncle came along and took photos for more up-to-date press pics. Here is a taster of things to come! The tenors are looking particularly resplendent, if I may say so myself. I can't wait for the rest - it is a standing joke that the press always uses the same prehistoric photo of us from years ago. Now at least they'll have something else they can choose.

I am guilty. Guilty of not checking up on the Pink Singers' website regularly. But I met up with Nathalina, our super new webmaster, last night and was compelled to have a look. What a great job she's doing! She has most recently posted the official event report for Helsinki and our performance with Out 'n Loud (i.e. not the Pink Insider's view). This one comes courtesy of Mikki, and is particularly significant, because it was her first trip overseas with the Pinkies. He's Got The Look!

Ben L has been keeping a watchful eye on the gay press, and it looks like one of our very own basses snuck into the 1st February 2007 edition of Boyz. Not only that, Mike seems to have won some kind of fashion prize.

Er, and had his age given away rather indiscreetly at the same time.

Congratulations Mike! It is always reassuring to see inspiration amongst our sartorially-challenged lot (I speak of myself of course).
